Toward Uncertainty.
I once read an essay by Anna Luke, titled 'Toward a Radical Uncertainty: Into the Darkness', some of her words from this piece stayed with me.
This period, no doubt, is a difficult one for many of us, with so much uncertainty in our collective & individual futures, when the life we once knew, a way of being we once followed dissolves before us, this can feel like a dark place.
For myself, lately I've often felt stuck in a limbo, sitting with the knowledge that the way I used to do things is no longer sustainable, seeing different possibilities ahead yet no clear direction towards them yet.
So I've been sitting in this uncertainty.
The old ways are dying & yet the new ways are still unclear.
This is a confusing place to stand. Yet this space is fertile ground, in this space we are free explore, to play with new possibilities.
Anna Luka writes:
"This is a call to the ... delicious, beating heart of the darkness. This darkness is not of the grave, but of the regenerative darkness of the womb".
If we can give ourselves the space to sit with this uncertainty, to sit within this darkness, without immediately trying to find some certainty to cling onto, what once seemed like a type of death, can become a rebirth.
We can give ourselves the opportunity to create space for a new path to illuminate before us.
Have you been dealing with uncertainty lately?
