How to calm a busy mind

Yep. I’ve been there.

Likely you have too.

It feels like there’s a tornado of thoughts rushing through your head.

You’ve got something coming up and your mind rushes off into imagining 500 awful future scenarios.

It feels unstoppable.

So what do you do?

Get into your body and get grounded.

Feel into all the points where your body connects with support.

Your feet connecting with the floor.

Your back being supported by a chair.

Your sit bones grounding down.

Get present..

Look around, where are you? How many colours do you see?

Get active.

Find a way to move that anxious energy, get out of your head and move your energy through your body.

Try a challenging yoga practice, run, walk, lift, shake.

Finally, slow down.

Slow down your movements and work to slow down your breath.

Make your breaths as slow, soft and gentle as you can.
