Rocket

A practice on liberation. Rocket is ashtanga’s fiery sibling. The practice is rooted in the ashtanga system and maintains a strong emphasis on breath, drishti & bandhas (if you don’t know what these are, don’t worry, you’ll learn through the practice!) to facilitate meditation, with the sequences taking inspiration from all 6 ashtanga series. The classes are designed to uplift you, physically, mentally & spiritually & energize your whole nervous system before closing with a pranayama to bring your mind & body into a place of pure calm & stillness.

Larry Shultz, the creator of the rocket system would say “everyone gets to do what they want to do!”, this a practice on freedom. This challenging yet playful class will bring you out of your comfort zone, with plenty of opportunities to practice your arm balances and inversions. Though each cue is a suggestion, the beauty of rocket is that you are left with full choice of how you’d like to practice today, whether you want to spend the whole class in a handstand or want to chill out in some restorative postures part way in, you’re still welcome to the class. No rules, no dogma. Just breath and practice.

Yoga Nidra

Pure stillness. You won’t find any down dogs in here! Almost like a long extended shavasana. Yoga Nidra is a beautifully meditative practice, done lying down, you will be guided through a meditation, created to bring you to a state of complete mental & physical relaxation while maintaining full awareness. The aim of this practice is to bring you into a hynagogic state between sleep and wakefulness where you can access deep meditative states and brain wave patterns, in this place you can begin to work with the subconscious.

Ashtanga

Dynamic and traditional. The ashtanga vinyasa system follows a series of 6 sequences of postures which are worked through over time, each being more challenging than the previous (public classes will always be series 1). This style is generally practiced without music & follows a sequence of postures which remain the same each time so that the practitioner can completely tune into their breath and move through the practice in a meditative state.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa means to link breath with movement. Although, in contrast to Ashtanga & Rocket, there is no set sequence, so postures & sequencing may vary a lot from week to week. This class is perfect for those looking for something a little more chill than my Rocket class & with more variation than Ashtanga.

Restorative & Meditation

The perfect class for when you’re in need of some down time. This class will start with a meditation to ground your awareness into your body & into the present moment. From there, we will enjoy long holds in passive stretches, facilitated by props such as blocks, blankets & bolsters, designed to calm the nervous system and restore the mind & body into a blissful stillness.

Flow to restore

A beautiful blend of vinyasa and restorative. In this class you’ll find a dynamic flowing sequence to get you into your body in the first part of the class, before settling down into some juicy restorative postures to calm your whole nervous system down. Perfect if you need a little movement before you’d like to settle in a place of stillness.

Mandala Vinyasa

Each mandala class is inspired by the energy of the one of the four elements (earth, water, fire, air) & a chakra, with an intention grounded in this. We will flow 360 degrees around the mat, syncing breath with movement as we gracefully flow from posture to posture.
